This popular hiking destination is situated 160 km from Budapest, at the bottom of Bükk Mountains, in the vicinity of Szilvásvárad in Heves County. If you are driving, take the M3/E71 motorway, exit Füzesabony, continue via road 33 and 3, on road 25 towards Eger. Shortly after leaving Szarvaskő, take the exit towards Mónosbél–Bélapátfalva–Szilvásvárad.

There is a large parking area at the terminal of the forest railway in Szilvásvárad, near the trail leading to the Szalajka Valley, with parking for several hundreds of vehicles. Also, some of the accommodations offer a parking place in the backyard.
